African Solutions Impact Circle

KIN’s African Solutions Impact Circle is a global community spanning five continents that includes CEOs, investors, academics, futurists and social innovators who want to be a conduit to convert Africa’s pressing challenges into opportunities that can be addressed at scale. The African Solutions Circle enables leaders around the world with common interests to meet, connect and collaborate to advance causes and take actions.

The Need

ASIC’s ongoing objective is to build a platform to make it easier to share knowledge as well as unleash the power of one-to-one connections. Everyone understands everyone else’s ideas and ambitions and how to help each other best. Then KIN can match-make the needs and leads and transcend this huge knowledge base of people.

Project Impact

KIN held several virtual events for the African Solutions Circle, including a “Needs & Leads” event that sparked connections to solve specific challenges the participants shared, and a “Support Grass Roots Initiatives” event, where the initiatives presented their projects to support their local communities and obtained new resources to scale their impact. Beyond the events, the 30-members of the Circle connect regularly via a private chat to exchange knowledge on events and opportunities for funding, such as an AI bootcamp for women founders. Specific outcomes to date inlcude: 1) Grassroots social entrepreneurs were offered digital innovation, marketing, and fundraising support from a globally recognized expert on AI and blockchain. 2) An international company selected an ASIC Circle member to be featured in a podcast featuring women leading innovation. 3) Mentorship and grant-writing support was exchanged between members. 4) A young social entrepreneur starting a mental health initiative was offered a one-on-one advising session with the CEO of a major corporation in South Africa. 5) Numerous personal introductions were made across diverse private and public sector leaders to strengthen initiatives focused on advancing a brighter and sustainable future for all in Africa.
